The Brainworks Lab:

Using The Brainworks"Hands On Lab" people with acquired brain injuries including stroke and traumatic brain injury and those with healthy-but aging-brains; have the opportunity to partner with professionals and volunteers in a very comfortable, therapeutic environment. The Brainworks Lab is an age friendly environment designed to engage and treat adults with communication or memory disorders. In the lab, we use our expertice about how people learn, and deliver a service that is in the form of individualized computer programs designed just for their personal needs.

Service in Your Home or Your Community

Speechworks Inc uses information technology to link people to speech-language pathologist expertise at a distance. Our “Telepractice Service” is direct to your home or community nursing station. You will be able to see, hear, and talk to your Speech-Language Pathologist on a television screen and they will be able to see, hear, and talk to you. We will help you download free software or "Skype" to your computer or we can help you find the nearest Mb Telehealth Site at your nearest nursing station or hospital. 

Swallowing Disorders

Collaboration with the professionals in your community provides the opportunity to transfer our expertise in swallowing assessments to your health care providers. Swallowing disorders occur in 65% of people who have experienced stroke and mortality rates are three times higher in people who have not been evaluated by an expert in swallowing assessment. Clinical Bedside Assessments are offered to communities on a per request basis.
